Why certify Matter
Certification allows the use of Certified Product logos and listing of the product on the Alliance website for verification. Certification denotes compliance to a specification and shows interoperability in the respective program.

Why certify your Matter device with Google
When you certify your Matter device with Google, you'll be able to:
- Use the "Works With Google Home" badge on the package for promotion.
- Use developmental support tools such as Matter Virtual Device.
- Set up custom images during commissioning flows.
- Use the OTA functionality in Google Home Developer Console.
- Be featured in the Explore Devices section of the Google Home site.
WWGH badge certification
The Works with Google Home (WWGH) badge is issued to devices that have passed Google's certification, regardless of the connection type (Matter, Cloud-to-cloud, Local Home SDK).
Google-certified Matter devices can use WWGH badge along with CSA's Matter badge, giving consumers confidence that the device will work well with Google Home ecosystem.
* For Matter only — Certified partners must be Alliance and Google Matter certified.- For Cloud-to-cloud and Matter — Certified partners must be Alliance, Google Matter, and Google Cloud-to-cloud certified.
